Modeling Viscoelasticity in Ansys
Submitted by vchalla on Mon, 2008-03-24 19:18.Hello all,
I have some stress relaxation data in the form of Stress vs. Time curves for different temperatures. I am planning on using a Prony series in Ansys to do this. Can anyone help with this? Any tips/tricks/references?

Flexible Macrolectronic Fabrication
Submitted by vchalla on Tue, 2007-04-03 01:04.Stretchable Silicon has been reported as one of " 10 cool technologies you have never heard of" :http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1988185,00.asp
Applications of stretchable silicon can be revolutionary ,such as in smart clothes which serve as body armor or in surgeons gloves that act as sensors. Researchers at Univeristy of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, lead by John Rogers have done extensive work on stretchable silicon. The idea here is that ultrathin silicon is flexible. The transistors are first fabricated using conventional techniques, and then using special etching procedures, the silicon is removed and deposited onto stretched rubber. When the rubber snaps back, the silicon ribbon forms an accordian like structure, that can stretch back and forth.

My research is on the reliability of stamped metal land grid array sockets for microprocessor applications. I worked with a Scanning Acoustic Microscope (SAM) manufacturer, as an applications engineer before I joined CALCE.
