Hibbitt Postdoc Fellowship in Mechanics of Solids at Brown

Brown Engineering is recruiting exceptionally talented researchers who have received their Ph.D. degree in engineering, or an engineering-related discipline, after July 2015, or who expect to do so by July 2017, and who aspire to create independent research and pursue careers as leaders of innovation. 

While we will consider applications in all areas of our engineering programs, preference will be given for the 17-18 academic year in the fields of fluids and thermal sciences, and mechanics of solids.

Professor Kyung-Suk Kim to Receive Engineering Science Medal from SES

Professor Kyung-Suk Kim of Brown University will receive the 2012 Engineering Science Medal from the the Society of Engineering Science (SES). The prize, which consists of a plaque and a check for $2000, is awarded in recognition of a singularly important contribution to Engineering Science.  Professor Kim will receive his award during the 49th Annual Technical Meeting of the Society of Engineering Science to be held at Georgia Institute of Technology from October 9-12, 2012.

Faculty Position in Solid Mechanics at Brown University

Brown University established a School of Engineering on July 1, 2010 and is beginning a major hiring initiative to fill multiple openings.  As part of this initiative, the School is seeking to fill a position in Solid Mechanics at any academic level to start in July 2011. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: micro/nano-scale solid mechanics, mechanics of cells and biological systems, soft matter mechanics, mechanics of materials for energy applications, computational mechanics, experimental mechanics, multiscale modeling.
