Multiple Phd positions at Virginia Tech

Our group has multiple PhD positions in the area of computational materials/mechanics available. Candidates should be strongly self-motivated individuals possessing an BS/MS degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials science and engineering, or other closely related disciplines. Familiarity with Linux supercomputing environment and strong C++ programming skills are desirable.

Graduate Student Openings in Computational Materials Science at Virginia Tech

Two PhD positions in the area of computational materials science (one is on Kinetic Monte Carlo Modeling of interface phenomena and another one on phase field modeling of solid-state phase transformation) is available in the Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering at the Virginia Tech. A PhD position in the area of computational materials science is available in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. Candidates should be strongly self-motivated individuals possessing a MS or BS degree in mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering or other closely related disciplines. This position will conduct multiphysics modeling on the MOOSE (http://mooseframework.org/) platform and a background in phase field modeling with strong c++ programming skills is desirable.

A PhD position in the area of computational materials science is available on Jan. 1st, 2017 in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. Candidates should be strongly self-motivated individuals possessing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering or other closely related disciplines. A background in density functional theory, molecular dynamics and/or phase field modeling with strong c++ programming skills is desirable.
