ASME IMECE Symposium on “Materials and Mechanics Issues in Energy Conversion, Storage and Transport”

Pradeep Sharma's picture

Energy conversion, storage and transport are rapidly emerging to be focal research topics in physical sciences due to socio-economic imperatives. Concurrent advances in materials science and allied areas such as nanotechnology, computational mechanics among others have provided fresh impetus to address next generation energy solutions. Innovative design of complex materials and concomitant mechanics problems are expected to play a strong role.  This broad symposium will cover various experimental, theoretical and computational developments related to materials and mechanics in energy research. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: multiscale modeling of materials for energy, materials and mechanics issues in nanocapacitors, lithium ion batteries, fuel cells, photovoltaics (including quantum dots), energy harvesting, thermoelectrics, hydrogen storage among others.

This symposium will be co-organized by five professors with strengths in different aspects of energy research: Professors Pradeep Sharma (psharma@uh.edu) University of Houston, Haleh Ardebili (hardebili@uh.edu) University of Houston, Harley Johnson (htj@uiuc.edu) University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Marty Dunn (Martin.Dunn@colorado.edu) University of Colorado at Boulder, Jiangyu Li (jjli@u.washington.edu) University of Washington.

Dear Pradeep,

I have tried to look for this symposium, but I could not.  The only relevant subject taht I found was track 6-18, "Materials for energy pplications".  I also found a symposium with this title but it was for SES conference on 2008. (http://ses2008.mechse.uiuc.edu/content/call_for_abstracts/symposiumdac1....)

I would be pleased if you provide more information about this symposium, such as as a link to its page.

 Thank you,

Kasra.
