Spectral Element

ramdas chennamsetti's picture

Hi all,

I have just started learning (working) on spectral element method for modeling elastic wave propagation. I wrote a small code for bar spectral element. There is some problem in reconstruction of signal. If anybody is working in this area may write back. I will send my code. If anybody is having a sample code, I requet them to kindly share.

With regards,

- Ramdas (rd_mech@yahoo.co.in)

Hi Ramdas,

I have developed a SEM for 1D and 2D.

An you can find some research codes in the web.

Regards,

Nicolás

Hi Nicolas,

That's nice. Could you please post the link from where I can access?

Thank you,

Hi Ramadas,

Here are some links:

There exist two open source SEM software for seismic waves:
– REGSEM (http://www.ipgp.fr/~paulcup/RegSEM.html), and
– SPECFEM3D (http://www.geodynamics.org/cig/software/specfem3d).

* SEM2D: http://sourceforge.net/projects/sem2d/

* Nektar (http://www.nektar.info/) is a Spectral/hp FEM open code
focused on Fluid Dynamics.
* The company Galois-Boltzmann Inc (http://www.galois-boltzmann.com) is developing a SEM software with a commercial license.

I'm rewritting my own code... I can give you the link later.

Regards,

Nicolás

I also found SES3D

programmed by Andreas Fichtner.

One more

FSELIB (for Matlab)

http://dehesa.freeshell.org/FSELIB/

developed by C. "Pozrikidis and described in Introduction to Finite and Spectral Element Methods using Matlab".
