Inhomogeneous Large Deformation Study of Temperature-Sensitive Hydrogel

  We have recently published a paper in International Journal of
Solid and Structure (IJSS). In the paper, we construct and implement a finite
element method for temperature sensitive hydrogel. The simulation
result is compared with the existing experimental data and analytic solution. They are in
good agreement. Several numerical examples are provided to apply the method
in the explanation of various examples, including bifurcation, buckling of
membrane, buckling of thin film on compliant substrate and the opening and
closure of flowers.

Dear Ding,
I am very interested in your recent paper,
 I have a question and appreciate if you could help me.
I would like to see for example let say for neutral hydrogels how the driving forces (gradient of osmotic pressure, friction forces between solvent and polymer and network elasticity) are changing during the swelling process (from time zero to equilibrium time). I would like to have a scaling analysis for each of them and put some numbers and get some values for them. I highly appreciate if you can help me.

Thanks for your interest in our work. 

However for your question, our subroutine cannot help. Because, you want to study the dynamic process, however, our formulation is aimed to study the static case.  

You may find the the work from my colleague helps, which  studied the kinetics of the neutral gel .
