Non-linear buckling analysis using static riks method-abaqus

hi,i have been doing non-linear buckling analysis using STATIC RIKs method

my model specification:   length:65 metre, dia=2.85metre,thickness=0.38meter

and i am having the following doubts:

1.i have done Eigen value buckling analysis first and got the mode values..but for getting the mode shapes which load value i have to apply????(whether calculated euler buckling load value)

2.i have given imperfection as 0.0038  i.e..,10% of thickness value is it correct????

3.how to calcuate critical buckling load from abaqus??

4.my model containd rack teeth,,but i didnt model that one..coz making shell is difficult...can i solve using solid elements??????

how can i conclude????

can anyone help me..

Thanks in advance...

Hi any one can help

I am doing a static riks analysis for snap buckling of thin conical shell with rigid top (by making thinkness more compare to slant portion).

Initially i did Eigne Buckling analysis and I could get mode shapes later tried "Startic geeral analysis with hinged edges at bottom for 'BC' but structure is not snapping.

Then tried static riks in this case it is snapping but LPF like cycling what does it mean

Any one can help

A lot of Thanks in advance

1)1st eigen mode is taken generally...

2) Imperfection can be imposed in the form of % thickness, there are videos available in Youtube on cylindrical shell buckling please check.

3) Dont know exactly....so please refer someone else....still I applied the load as shell edge load hence, when i got the results in eigen value analysis, i just multiplied it by the loading perimeter...For static riks method...sum of the reaction forces at all the nodes will give you the reaction or the actual buckling load, i dnt know if its the critical buckling load....You can get the reactions by giving appropriate field output requests in step and then you can obtain the results from the visualisation module

4) no clue bro
