SERC launched the A*STAR Investigatorships last year. This prestigious award for top young research talent, tenable at their research institutes, aims to nurture young talent and build R&D capabilities in Singapore.

This year, the award is open for applications in the following areas:

Cognitive Systems, including robotics
Meta-materials
Terahertz
Clean energy technologies (including fuel cells, organic PVs, bioenergy)
Services Science (focusing on computational approaches and computer systems to improve service efficiency and catalyse service innovation

As in last year's call, interested applicants should have recently obtained their PhD (at most not more than 48 months, but preferrably within 24 months). The appointment will be for a duration of 3 years renewable for a further 3 years, with each A*STAR Investigator's laboratory funded up to US$500K p.a. The flyer on this year's award is attached. Applications close on 31 May 2008.
