I do not know how you calculated the K1. Theoretically speaking, you can get a LOCAL K1 at every point on the crack front, where you get the stress or displacement distributions. Of cause, the accuracy is always a problem.
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
I&amp;acute;d like to suggest you the VCE to calculate the J1, since you said that you are analysing the SIF for mode 1. Because the virtual displacement is clearly on the x-direction.

 <title>Analysis of SIF along crack front</title>

&lt;p&gt;
&amp;nbsp;Iam analysing the SIF for mode I crack propagation in 3D model using ansys. I was able to get the kI for the crack tip for the first&amp;nbsp;surface layer but was&amp;nbsp;not able to analyse the variation in SIF along the crack front. Can anybody please help me with this.
