Post-doc Multiscale Computational Mechanics in Cardiff

Cardiff Institute of Mechanics and Advanced materials (UK)
proposes a 2-year post-doc position in computational mechanics. The aim of the
project is to develop error-controlled multiscale strategies for fracture in
heterogeneous solids. In addition to delivering high-quality research outputs, The
researcher will contribute to the activities of the research team led by Pr
Bordas and Dr Kerfriden in terms of undergraduate student supervision and
MSc/PhD supervision.

The successful candidate will have experience with advanced
numerical methods such as multiscale/multigrid methods, domain decomposition
and advanced discretisation methods for PDEs and/or with numerical analysis
such as model and discretisation error estimation.
