For the convenience of the readers of this group please provide a translation from Google translate or Babelfish along with the Chinese version.

Here's what Google translate said:

I was the Wuhan University of Science and Technology mechanics of the 04 undergraduate students Now, I was prepared to graduate took the mechanics more broad direction people confused, Enrollment in the end do not know which direction more suitable, more able to play to their strong points.
I want to hear your professional choice for the proposal.
,Tensor Analysis,FEM, Elasticity recent study, Tensor Analysis, FEM courses Cox said the tensor Although simple but a bit hard to understand, then you do not know how to overcome!
               .Mathematics for laying a solid foundation for professional and related issues, I also hope to share your successful experiences.

I have been finding the Google Translator is not working very well for Chinese iMechanica posts;  I am fortunate that my sister is fluent in Mandarin and she has translated some things posted on iMechanica for me including the interview here .  I think we need to seek volunteers willing to help with the translating rather than rely on Google for this...

Michelle,

I agree that the Google translation leaves much to be desired.  However, one does get the gist of what the author is trying to say.  A good translation will require some time and effort on the part of the translator.  I don't think many of the readers of iMechanica can afford that time.

I believe we see posts in English, Chinese, and Spanish on iMechanica.  I know a bit of Spanish and can understand what's being written.  However, when I see a post in Chinese I simply don't have a clue.  I usually open the post in Google translator to get a feel for what's being said.  That takes time and effort.  I'm sure many people just skip those posts.

If the authors want a wider audience then the easiest thing for them to do is to translate their messages into English via an automatic translator and attach the output to their posts.  Or perhaps they don't want a wider audience ?

I love mechanics!

      In fact,I can express myself in English .Last time,I post a new forum topic in Chinese and you said "inding the Google Translator is not working very well for Chinese iMechanica posts".

  I think I am willing to be a volunteer for the job of translating the Chinese materials.

It is always a serious question if you are asking about your future profession, school, and so on.

As you can see, there are so many directions in the field of Mechanics, and what you should learn is a matter of your personal choice.  How to make a right decision is hard to answer, but you need to consider the following:

1. Why mechanics?  Because you are in the Mechanics Major?  This may not be enough.  You can easily switch to Engineering fields like Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

2. Even in mechanics, there are so many schools and professors to choose from.  Which should come first?  Professor or School?

3. What is your interest in further study?

4. What is your objective of graduate study?

5. Why do not you participate some research projects to decide if you are interested in Mechanics?

There are many ways to make up your mind, but you really need to talk to professors and examine your purpose of study.

如果感兴趣,学爆炸力学吧。原因有以下几点:
(1) 太多的问题没有解决,而且需要解决。好多唯象理论需要基于材料微结构的理论来解释;
(2) 需要多学科(流体力学,固体力学,材料微结构,高分子,金属,复合材料,燃烧,化学反应,等等);
(3) 空间多尺度(丛高能材料原子尺度的化学反应,微米尺度的热点形成和微结构演化,到宏观大尺度的冲击);
(4) 时间多尺度(丛原子时间尺度的高速反应,到大尺度的破坏);
(5) 不象有限元已经很成熟,对于爆炸过程没有合适的模拟方法;
(6) 研究经费多;
(7) 实现人类探索空间的梦想;
(8) 避免象生物力学,纳米力学的密集型热门。小尺度爆炸还可解决意想不到的生物与纳米的问题。
(9) 和平与反恐怖:爆炸大王诺贝尔对人类科技进步的推动。
 (10) 时间的起始,宇宙的奇点,源于大爆炸;
(11) 其他。
