Lecturer in Structural Engineering

The closing date for applications is Monday Feb 18, 2013

Structural Engineering at Newcastle University is seeking a motivated individual who has the potential for being a world-leading researcher. We are especially interested in candidates with the capacity to contribute to multi-disciplinary projects within our school as well as collaborate with our national and international academic and industrial partners. Current major structural engineering research themes include numerical simulation and dynamics; material characterisation and performance; laboratory and field testing and resilient infrastructure. Your research interests could complement the current themes, however the School also wishes to encourage the development of new structures research which reflects your expertise.

A significant start up package will be made available to enable this. You will teach on our flagship civil engineering/civil and structural engineering undergraduate programmes and our leading Structural Engineering MSc programme. You should hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant area, and have the potential for Chartered Engineer status in the UK.

It is intended to hold interviews in March 2013. For further details and informal enquiries please contact Sean Wilkinson on +44 191 222 8876 (sean.wilkinson@ncl.ac.uk) or Professor Jon Mills at +44 191 222 5393 (jon.mills@ncl.ac.uk).
