We are pleased to invite you to submit an abstract for the international symposium on Structure-Property Relationships in Low-dimensional Metallic Nanostructures at the MS&T'13 conference in Montreal, Quebec Canada on October 27-31, 2013.

NOTE: The deadline for abstract submission has been extended to March 31 at http://www.matscitech.org/

The symposium will focus on experimental, theoretical and computational studies of mechanical and physical properties in nanoscale metallic materials including, but not limited to,

-Size and strain-rate effects in nanoscale plasticity and fracture

-Surface effects on dislocation nucleation, propagation and exhaustion

-Strengthening and fracture mechanisms at small length scale

-Mechanical and physical properties of nanotwinned systems

-Properties of nanomaterials under extreme environment

-Nanostructured materials for energy harvesting and storage

Confirmed invited speakers include:

Megan Cordill (Erich Schmid Institute of Materials Science, Austria), Andrew Minor (UC Berkeley, USA), Shigenobu Ogata (Osaka University, Japan), Jakob Schiotz (Technical University of Denmark), Ralph Spolenak (ETH Zurich, Switzerland), Xinghang Zhang (Texas A&M, USA), and Ting Zhu (Georgia Tech, USA).

We look forward to seeing you in Montreal this Fall.

Frederic Sansoz, Yinmin (Morris) Wang, Ron Miller, and Jun Lou
