PhD Scholarship at the University of Queensland, Australia
PhD scholarship (A$24,000 per year) is immediately available at the School of Civil Engineering, the University of Queensland, Australia. The successful applicant will join our research team to work in one of the following areas: (1) smart materials and composite structures; (2) mechanics of nanocomposite structures; (3) Structural damage identification; (4) Structural dynamics and stability.
The perspective applicants should
(a) hold a MSc. degree in a closely related area;
(b) have solid background in and good knowledge of solid mechanics, composite materials and numerical modeling techniques;
(c) have strong motivation and enthusiasm to carry out high-quality research;
(d) Meet the language requirements below
IELTS: overall score ≥ 6.5 (no sub-band score < 6)
TOEFL (paper based): overall score ≥ 570 (writing ≥ 5, reading ≥ 54, listening ≥ 54)
TOEFL (internet based): overall score ≥ 90 (writing ≥ 21, reading ≥ 20, listening ≥ 20, speaking ≥ 20)
Experience with finite element modeling and structural testing will be regarded as an asset but not essential.
