PhD positions at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano is
currently seeking applicants for PhD positions in the following research areas:
1- Dynamics and Vibration of Mechanical Systems and Vehicles
2- Machine and Vehicle Design
3- Manufacturing and Production Systems
4- Methods and Tools for Product Design
6- Measurements and Experimental Techniques
7- Smart Materials and Structures
Detailed information on our scientific areas, scholarship availability and proposed research topics can be found at at www.mecc.polimi.it (Research->PhD)
Full funded positions (Scholarship, 1.200 Euro/month net amount) benefit from:
-housing financial support (only for top-level foreign students 1.500 euro for the first year only);
-financial aid for study materials and conference fees (600 Euro/year).
Candidates with scholarship receive extra-funding (500 euro/month) for research periods abroad (up to 18 months).
The main target of the Programme is to provide PhD candidates with
specific training in Mechanical and Industrial engineering disciplines
and to strengthen their research skills in industrial and academic
contexts. At the end of the PhD programme our students will be able to
carry out innovative projects on product, process and manufacturing
systems, by properly taking into account functionality, constructive and
energetic issues, while selecting materials, manufacturing processes,
configuration and management strategies for manufacturing systems and
measurement control services and devices.
The attainment of a PhD in Mechanical Engineering requires at least
three-years of full time study, research activity and development of PhD
thesis (Doctoral Dissertation).
Eligibility requirements: Master of Science (min. 5 years of graduate education); B2 level English knowledge.
Mandatory attachments: CV and research project proposal.
All profiles will be evaluated by an Admission Board, composed by members of the PhD Faculty.
