Post-doctoral Associate in brain biomechanics is available at Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH
A post-doctoral associate position funded by the NIH is available at the Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth College. This position will support research in in vivo biomechanics of the human brain using stereovision, image-analysis, and finite element modeling. Applicants are expected to have an earned Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering or biomedical engineering, or a closely related field. Expertise with image analysis and MATLAB is essential. Experience with finite element modeling (e.g., Abaqus) is a plus. This position will involve working with a team of biomechanical researchers and clinicians to analyze stereoscopic images of exposed brain surfaces from patients undergoing open-skull neurosurgery. The post-doc associate will also be expected to participate in preparing research articles, presenting research findings at conference meetings, and contributing to grants. Therefore, excellent writing and communication skills are important.
Dartmouth College is an Ivy League institution. Our lab works closely with researchers in the Advanced Imaging Center and Advanced Surgical Center, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, as well as with other faculty in the engineering school and school of medicine.
