Virtual Special Issue: CFD simulation of pedestrian-level wind conditions around buildings: past achievements and prospects

This Virtual Specail Issue deals with papers on CFD simulation of pedestrian-level wind conditions around buildings, published in the Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics (JWEIA).

Over the past 23 years, a considerable number of publications on CFD simulation of pedestrian-level wind conditions around buildings have been published in the JWEIA, indicating not only the early awareness of the research community concerning the capabilities of CFD to address this problem, but also the continued importance of this topic and the ongoing research efforts towards high-quality assessment and improvement of pedestrian-level wind conditions, wind comfort and wind safety. The topic is expected to continue receiving a great deal of attention in the Computational Wind Engineering community in the future.

To access the papers, go to the journal homepage. For non-subscribers, the full text of the selected papers will be free to access until 31 December 2013.
