Faculty Position - Computational Materials Science

The Department of Mechanical Engineering
at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a tenure-track faculty
position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the area of computational
materials science.  The successful
applicant will be expected to establish an externally funded research program, develop
collaboration within the Department and College, mentor graduate students, and teach
at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. 
Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in mechanical
engineering or a closely related field. 

The Department of Mechanical
Engineering (www.uwyo.edu/mechanical/) has 15 full-time faculty members, 2
academic professionals, 6 post-doctoral researchers, 340 undergraduate and 45 graduate
students, and 3 staff.  The Department offers
BS, MS, and PhD degrees, and is committed to an exceptional educational
experience for students at all degree levels. The Mechanical Engineering
Department, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and the School of
Energy Resources provide a dynamic research environment with plans for a
significant infrastructure investment over the next five years.  A substantial
expansion of facilities and faculty associated with the College of Engineering
and Applied Sciences appears imminent.

As the only four-year institution of
higher learning in Wyoming, the University of Wyoming enjoys a distinctive
leadership role in the state and region.  Our main campus is in Laramie, located 130
miles northwest of Denver, and perched in a scenic valley between the Laramie

Hello,

 I am Dibakar Datta, PhD candidate at Brown University and visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania. I will graduate this November/ December. By that time, I am hoping to have around 12/15 papers. 

 Is fresh PhD without post doc eligible for this position ?
