The Metrology/Calibration Specialist primary responsibility is the calibration of test and measuring instrumentation and signal generating equipment. The specialist shall complete scheduled and unscheduled calibrations including all required documentation as per procedures.

Key responsibilities include:
· Generate calibration procedures for instruments according to schematics and technical manuals in line with internal and/or industry standards/procedures; and maintain calibration reference materials and standards.
· Calibrate commercial and in-house designed/built test and measurement equipment; assure compliance to QMS; and prepare calibration reports and certificates.
· Calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment in the following disciplines: DC/Low Frequency, RF/Microwave, Dimensional Mechanical, Optical, Thermodynamics, and Time & Frequency, to ensure compliance with published specifications.
· Adapt existing calibration equipment, standards, and techniques to accomplish unique measurement tasks.
· Identify conditions and measurement errors; and perform corrective action via adjustments, component replacement, correction factors, etc.
· Determine required maintenance/re-calibration for electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical test and measurement equipment; and perform or organize routine and complex troubleshooting, PM, and CM of precision equipment of test apparatus.
· Coordinate third party calibration requirements; and monitor contractor performance
· Record data gathered during calibration; and maintain in-house calibration database.
· Lead Out-of-Tolerance investigations for instrument calibration failures.
· Train subordinates and students on calibration concepts and procedures.

To be successful within this role you must have:
·
A minimum of a BS Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
· Minimum of 7 years of pertinent experience and growing responsibilities in high precision calibration and/or R&D environment for electronic/electro-mechanical, process control equipment and mechanical equipment
· Proven track record of hands-on experience in progressively more complicated calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of precision measuring equipment and calibration systems
· ASQ CCT holder
· Thorough knowledge of ANSI Z540.3 and ISO/IEC 17025
· Experience with Fluke’s MET/CAL Plus Version 8 Calibration Management Software
· Advanced skills with MS Excel and LabView
