We have a number of open positions in our research group that are available immediately. Summary of the positions are provided below; however, for more information about our research group, please visit

http://web.engr.oregonstate.edu/~isgorb/

POSITION 1: Ph.D. Student (Surface Science / Nano-scale Characterization). Analytical, spectroscopic and microscopic techniques in surface and interface science of metals. Background in FIB, TEM, XPS, EELS, and other nano-scale surface characterization techniques is an asset.

POSITION 2: Ph.D. Students (Computational Materials Science) Currently we are looking for two Ph.D. students with expertise in the following areas:

  • Student 1: DFT or other atomistic modelling techniques as applied to problems in surface science.
  • Student 2: Continuum modelling techniques in field problems such as transport in micro scale domains and/or meso/macro scale porous media via reaction, advection, diffusion and electrical migration driven processes.

POSITION 3: Post-doctoral Fellows (PDF). PDF applicants with their own funding (e.g. from NSF or NSERC) will be given priority. Currently we are looking for PDFs with expertise in one (or more) of the following areas:

  • DFT or other atomistic modelling techniques as applied to problems in surface science or electrochemistry.
  • Continuum modelling techniques in field problems such as transport in micro scale domains and/or meso/macro scale porous media via advection, diffusion and electrical migration driven processes.
  • Analytical, spectroscopic and microscopic techniques in surface science, electrochemistry and corrosion.

If you have demonstrated expertise in the fields that are described above, and would like to inquire about the open positions, please send your CV (in PDF format!) to the following email address:

Please note that only the qualified candidates with required qualifications and expertise for the defined projects will be contacted.

Oregon State University is one of the two research universities in the U.S. with Land, Space, Ocean and Sun grants, and is classified by the Carnegie Foundation's top designation for research institutions as "RU/VH Research University (very high research activity)". Oregon State is located in Corvallis, a vibrant college town of 55,000 in the heart of Western Oregon’s Willamette Valley, one hour south of Portland. Corvallis consistently ranks among the best and safest cities to live in the U.S., as well as among the most environmentally responsible.
