Experiment vs FE-model

Hi everyone,

I am trying to model an experiment (axial loaded concrete column).

How can I make my load-deflection curve from the FE-model to get closer to the curve from the experiment?

Thanks!

Well, one question might be how do you get your experiment to match your model better. Is the experimental curve only a single experiment or the average of several. If it's the former, you may want to run this multiple times and see where the spread of the curves ends up. Your model might sit in that envelope.

Aside from that, you'd need to describe your model and experiment more. Is this just a concrete column (e.g. no rebar)? What material model are you using in your simulation? Do your boundary conditions match between experiment and simulation?t

The experiment is found in the litterature review. I haven't done it myself.

My model is a concrete colum with 4 longitudinal bars and transverse reinforcement c/c 105mm. I use damage plasticity to model the concrete. The boundary condition is roller at both sides in the experiment and in the FE-model.

Thnak you for your help.
