Research Fellowship for Nationals of Mexico, India, China and Turkey

The Newton International Fellowship scheme is for non-UK scientists who are at an early stage of their research career and wish to conduct research in the UK.

Applicants need to find a host scientist with a mutual interest. I am keen to hear from potential candidates interested in joining my research group at the University of Manchester - using or adapting ParaFEM to perform novel research in any eligible branch of engineering or medical science. Successful candidates will have access to state of the art supercomputers, X-ray tomography imaging facilities and modern laboratory equipment. If necessary, please browse the ParaFEM website and the list of publications on ResearchGate to get ideas for potential projects.

The scheme provides the opportunity for the best early stage post-doctoral researchers from all over the world to work at UK research institutions for a period of two years.

This round is open to applicants from India, China, Mexico and Turkey and is run in partnership with the Academy of Medical Sciences. Therefore, only projects that fall under the remit of the Royal Society or Academy of Medical Sciences will be considered. Please see the scheme notes for full details.

If you are interested in applying for the Fellowship (and joining my group), please check the eligibility criteria on the Royal Society website and contact lee.margetts@manchester.ac.uk as soon as possible (preferably before 24 July 2015). Proposals need to be submitted to the Royal Society by 9 September 2015.
