PhD Opening in Computational Poromechanics at the University of Florida.

Dr. Xiaoyu Song in the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering at the University of Florida is recruiting a Ph.D. student who will work on the broad area of theoretical and computational poro-geomechanics. The potential applications include contaminant transport in three-phase porous media, coupled solid deformation/fluid flow of earth structures, CO2 sequestration issues, and mass transport through soft and hard tissues. The qualified candidate will be provided with full financial support. The start date for this position is January 2016.

The requirements for this position:
(1). Master degree in engineering (civil or mechanical engineering is preferred).
(2). Knowledge of scientific computing (e.g., finite element method).
(3). Programming skills in C++ or FORTRAN on Linux OS.
