How to Apply

 Please apply through the Newcastle University’s online postgraduate application form https://aspire.ncl.ac.uk/Register. In the ‘Studentship/Partnership Reference’ field, please insert the relevant IAP/?/? code (for example,  IAP_15_51-NEW-Chen)  provided for the individual project you are interested in. As the programme of study please select PhD School of Civil Engineering & Geosciences (8040FT/PT). In addition to completing an online application form, you will also need to provide the following documentation: •Current CV

•A cover letter, no longer that 2 pages of A4 in length, detailing your reasons for applying for a PhD and why you have selected your chosen doctoral research project;

•Two references, where possible not from your prospective supervisor(s), and

•Transcripts of your previous qualifications obtained to date.

The deadline for students to apply for advertised IAPETUS projects is 22 January 2016. All shortlisted IAPETUS applicants will be interviewed (skype or personal presence) by a cross disciplinary panel at the host University and this is likely to be around 5th-15th February 2016. All studentships will commence in September 2016, except in exceptional circumstances.
