Positions in computational solid mechanics at Institute of High Performance Computing, A*STAR, Singapore
We are looking for several capable and responsible candidates with good computational mechanics/solid mechanics skills to work on modeling metals and/or composite materials.
You will be involved in:
-
Constitutive modeling of metals and alloys and/or micromechanics modeling of plasticity mechanisms in metals and alloys;
-
Modeling damage progression in CFRP composite materials and/or meso-scale modeling of woven fabrics composites from X-ray CT-Scan imaging of actual specimens;
-
Collaborate with other researchers to solve various engineering problems; and
-
Assist in external funded projects.
Job requirements:
-
Candidate must have at least a Doctorate (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering/Material Science Engineering, or related fields. Background in composite materials with computational skills is preferred;

Proficient in finite element analysis software such as ABAQUS, ANSYS, and/or NASTRAN.

Proficient in programming skills in these languages (C/C++, Fortran, and Matlab). Programming in other languages such as Python is an advantage.

Possess good publication track records as evidence of research capability and innovative problem solving skills; and

Possess good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
