A PhD position is available immediately in Computational Materials Science at Missouri University of Science and Technology (Rolla).
This project is funded by NASA to study solidification microstructures in microgravity using multi-phase field modeling. Candidates should have a master's degree in mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering, solid-state physics, or applied mathematics. A background in phase field modeling and finite element modeling is desired; however, candidates with a strong background in computational fluid dynamics, MD simulations, or DFT calculations will be considered. Start date is January 2018.
Requirements for admission in MSE at Missouri S&T are: GRE score >301 and >3.5 AW; international students: TOEFL score >88-iBT (please don't send your application materials if you don't have the minimum requirements).
Please send your CV to Prof. Asle Zaeem by email (zaeem@mst.edu); your CV should include your test scores, GPA of your BS and MS, publication list, and reference list.
