Xiaoyan Li, of Tsinghua University, will be the next Editor of the iMechanica Journal Club. The Journal Club was initiated in January 2007, soon after the launch of iMechanica. It has quickly grown into a flagship feature of iMechanica, epitomizing the vibrant topics and dynamic researchers at the frontier of mechanics. iMechanica is fortunate to have Xiaoyan to be the newest addition to a succession of excellent Editors. Dear Xiaoyan:  Thank you very much for taking this on.  I have just come back from a trip to China.  The colleagues in China have made phenomenal progress.  Best wishes for 2018.  Zhigang

Looking at his impressive CV (2 Phds, from top schools in China and US), with an impressive publication record I am sure he'll do great.

What are his planned topics?

Dear Zhigang, Ahmedettaf and Mike, Thank you very much for your kind supports and trust. I will devote myslef ot Journal Club in 2018. I was working on the collection of discussion topics and the invitation of dicussion leaders. The discussion topic might include mechanics of novel nanostructured materials (such as nanotwinned materials, low-dimensional materials, energy-relevant materials and nanolattices etc.), deformation and fracture of high entropy alloys, mechanics of soft matters and robotics, as well as the frcition and adhesion of materials (suggested by Mike). Happy New Year! Best wishes. Xiaoyan
