Postdoc position in nonlinear multiscale simulation and optimization @ SUTD Singapore
Job Description:
We are looking for a postdoctoral research fellow who has experience with developing and implementing computational algorithms for simulation and optimization in structural mechanics.
He or she will be involved in an interdisciplinary project for the development of a computational framework for the design of functional textiles. The objective is to develop and implement novel computational algorithms for multi-scale and multi-physics simulation of functional textiles and fabrics, which will be at the core of a multifunctional design optimization framework.
The position requires a fundamental knowledge in one or more of the following areas: structural mechanics concepts (membranes and shells), constitutive modelling and homogenization, nonlinear finite element methods or isogeometric analysis, gradient-based design optimization, as well as experience in algorithm development for computational simulation and optimization.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
• PhD in Mechanical or Structural Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related areas.
• Expertise in computational mechanics, numerical modelling and simulation.
• Expertise in structural mechanics, constitutive and multi-scale modelling, homogenization methods.
• Expertise in linear and nonlinear optimization.
• Strong programming skills MATLAB and C++ or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Experience with Finite Element and CAD software (Abaqus).
Remarks and Application:
To submit your application or inquire for more information, please contact Dr. Oliver Weeger (oliver_weeger@sutd.edu.sg) and Assist. Prof. Dr. Sai-Kit Yeung (saikit@sutd.edu.sg).

Ask for a Ph.D. position
Dear KenvinGE,
Thank you for your post.
I'm very interested in the position. Unfortunately, currently I need a Ph.D. position.
Could you help me ask the leader of the project if there is a similar job for Ph.D. candidates?
Thank you very much.
Best regards,
Nhan
