Position in Thermoplastic Composite Materials Processing at the University of South Carolina

Applications are invited for a graduate studentship position in Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Carolina, focused on the thermoplastic composite material induction welding process. The successful applicant will join an interdisciplinary team of faculty and researchers at the McNAIR Center for Aerospace Innovation and Research. The research involves experimental processing of thermoplastic induction welding to establish heat generation, heat transfer and residual stresses in thermoplastic composites. 

The successful applicant must have a background in processing of composite materials and knowledge of composite materials. Familiarity with induction welding is a plus.
