PhD position in Mechanics/Acoustics at Temple University

There is one open Ph.D. student position with financial support in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Temple University to start in Fall, 2018 . The successful applicant will work with Dr. Haijun Liu on interdisciplinary research topics that involve mechanics, biology, acoustics, and sensor technology. To comply with the admission guidelines at the College of Engineering at Temple University, the applicants need to meet the following requirements:

  • B.S. in science and engineering, with a GPA better than 3.0
  • TOEFL >= 79 and IELTS >= 6.5 for foreign applicants who don't have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in the United States
  • GRE Quantitative >= 160 (applicants with exceptional qualifications in other aspects may receive a waiver if he/she hasn't taken the GRE test)
  • Master's degree is not required, but will be a plus
  • Decent background in mechanics
  • Background in acoustics is not required, but will be a plus
