PhD studentship in Computational Materials Engineering at University of Nevada, Reno

We are currently looking for motivated candidates who are interested in pursuing their Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno starting from Fall 2018.

Interests can be in any one of the following

1. Phase field modeling of microstructural evolution in metallic alloys (with a core focus on solidification and solid-state transformations),

2. Crystal plasticity finite element modeling of fatigue in polycrystalline alloys.


The candidates are expected to have background in one of the following areas:
Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or other closely related disciplines.  Experience with MATLAB, Fortran, C/C++ is desired.
