Job Description and Responsibilities

At Schlumberger-Doll Research (SDR) in Cambridge, MA, the robotics and materials department is evaluating and developing cutting-edge technology for the automation of oil and gas applications. We are looking for a PhD intern specializing in CFD with research emphasis on conjugate heat transfer to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will closely collaborate with experienced SDR research scientists and a Schlumberger product development team to design, develop, simulate and test hardware and software prototypes against harsh oilfield environments with our customers.

 

Qualifications

·        PhD in CFD with research emphasis on conjugate heat transfer and multiphase flows

·        Deep theoretical foundation in turbulence, heat transfer and computational methods

·        Working knowledge of Fluent software

·        Demonstrated proficiency with programming languages such as Fortran, C++ or Python

·        Experience with casting and materials phase change simulation is a plus

·        Excellent problem-solving, organizational and communication skills

·        Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
