Senior Editors Wanted: New Cell Press Journal In Materials Science

swcranford's picture

Hello iMechanica community!

I am happy to announce the upcoming release of a new journal from Cell Press in the general field of materials science. So new in fact, that the title of the journal is yet to be finalized!

This upcoming materials title is the third journal in the physical sciences offered by Cell Press, after the successful launches of Chem (https://www.cell.com/chem/home) and Joule (https://www.cell.com/joule/home). The journal aims to compete with high impact offerings of Nature Materials, Advanced Materials, etc.

As founding editor-in-chief with a background in mechanics of materials, I was hoping to draw some information, motivation and hopefully personnel from the iMechanica community.

First, I am looking for full time Associate Editors to join the team! If you have (or are close to) a Ph.D. (or know someone who does) in the general field of materials, have broad interdisciplinary interests, excellent writing skills, and are interested in science communication, I'm looking for candidates.

See:

Get in touch with the team at: materials.cellpress@gmail.com

The full time position is located in our offices in Cambridge, MA (close to MIT for those familiar with the area).

Any questions about the upcoming journal, feel free to e-mail me,

Cheers!

Steve Cranford
