Postdoctoral Position in in Computational Mechanics of Structured Coatings at the Technical University of Denmark

<p>A position as Postdoc in Computational Mechanics of Structured Coatings is available at DTU Wind Energy in the Section of Composite Mechanics and Structures (COS). Responsibilities and tasks The postdoctoral position will focus on: (a) development of computational models to evaluate various protective coatings of the wind turbine blades, with view of their lifetime and rain erosion resistance, and (b) numerical modelling of microscale degradation and fatigue of wind turbine blade coatings under multiple liquid impacts, using finite element software Abaqus and Python programming language. During the project time, you will collaborate with experimental groups at DTU Wind Energy, and with external project partners, including leading manufacturers of wind turbine blades and coatings. Qualifications Candidates should have a PhD degree in materials science, applied mechanics, mechanical engineering or related disciplines, and have experience or good knowledge of mechanics of materials, computational micromechanics, finite element simulations (ABAQUS) as well as programming in a higher-level language (Python, including Numpy package).
