Post-doc in Durability of Composite Materials

Dear colleagues,

Applications are invited for a 2 year (1+1) postdoctoral position with a background in durability and design of composite materials. 

 

The position is industrial/academic meaning a strong collaboration with industrial partner - Vestas Aircoil incl. half year stay at the Vestas Aircoil site in Denmark.

You are expected to contribute to design of a composite end cover for heat exchangers working in harsh environments with the aim of substituting the existing steel constructions commonly used nowadays. Special emphasis will be placed on the water boxes distributing the water inside the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger cools air or gases by using cooling water as secondary fluid. The water can be either freshwater or seawater/saltwater. 

While this is the primary announcement, providing the right candidate will be found, no further actions will be taken and the post-doc position can start as soon as possible.

Academic qualifications of the candidate:

- PhD in the subject relevant for composite materials and durability confirmed by publications in well established journals.

- Very good knowledge of English, communication and social skill with ability to work as part of the team.

 

Place of employment is Vestas-Aircoil, and place of work is Inge Lehmanns Gade 10, 8000 Aarhus C,  and/or Skejby Nordlandsvej 301, 8200 Aarhus N, Denmark. Morever, a post-doctoral fellow is expected to spend up to 6 months at Vestas Aircoil A/S, Smed Hansens Vej 13, 6940 Lem, Denmark and up to 2 months in foreign research institution.

Deadlines:

Position is available from 01.01.2019 or as soon as possible hereafter with the deadline for starting the project at 31.05.2019. Providing a suitable candidate is found the announcement and position will be considered closed.
