Tenure-Track Faculty Position (Assistant Professor) in Design and Manufacturing at University of Mississippi

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Mississippi ("Ole Miss"), Oxford, MS is seeking to fill a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Design and Manufacturing to start Fall 2019. Successful candidate is expected to foster a balanced program of research and undergraduate/graduate instruction that integrates the perspectives of machine design, manufacturing, and robotics.

The department also offers a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with manufacturing emphasis through collaboration with the Center for Manufacturing Excellence (CME) located within the UM campus. Successful candidate will have an opportunity to collaborate with the CME faculty and students. Proven expertise in the experimental development of advanced manufacturing methods, including theories / computational modeling of additive manufacturing processes is essential to build a strong, externally funded research program. An earned Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field with teaching and research experience in manufacturing is required.
