Professor Position (Full Professor) in Continuum Mechanics at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Leibniz University Hannover, Germany
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Leibniz University Hannover is seeking to fill a Full Professor position in Continuum Mechanics to start Fall 2019. The professorship is linked to the management of the institute of the same name and represents the subject inteaching and research.
Research experience and international visibility in one or more of the following areas is required:
Materialt heory, multi-scale and multified modelling, finite element method, high performance computing,
development of mesh-free methods.
The willingness to cooperate in inter-institute research and transfer projects, especially in the areas of
material science, productiontechnology and mechatronics, as well as the raising of third-party funds, is
expected. In teaching,participation in the basic subject "TechnischeMechanik"is required,as is the
teaching of Finite Elements, Continuum mechanics and theory of materials.
The applicant should have an outstanding didactic and scientific qualification, which is proven by a habilitation or several years of relevant and successful alternative research activity.
General responsibilities and conditions of appointment apply, in accordance with the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NiedersächsischesHochschulgesetz-NHG).
Part-time employment can be arranged upon request.
