International Workshop on In Situ Electron Microscopy in Advanced Materials Research, held at Institute of Physics, Chinese Acad

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of my co-organizers, Jianqi Li, Dapeng Yu, Xiaolei Xu and Lianmao Peng, we cordially invite you to attend the International Workshop on In Situ Electron Microscopy in Advanced Materials Research, held at Institute of Physics, Chinese Academic of Science on May 31 to June 2, 2008, in Beijing, China.

This workshop aims to bring together researchers and material scientists with an interest in combining real-time monitoring EM techniques with quantitative nanomechanical testing, electrical testing and thermal testing, etc. These emerging hybrid methods enable the building of direct relationships between microstructure evolution of advanced materials and their properties.   These methods hold great promise to improve our understanding of the origins of mechanical, thermal as well as electrical properties, and of how these properties are coupled. The goal of this workshop is to share insights and experiences, to foster research communities and to fertilize collaborations between the experts from both science and industry.
