The Department of Engineering Mechanics, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, invites applications for a Research Assistant Professor

To enhance its leadership position and focus for the future, UNL CoE is now deploying a new strategic approach in biomaterials, focusing on novel experiments and ground-breaking research. UNL external research funding has tripled in the last decade. The investment of these funds enables the university to support innovative research projects, hire top faculty and provide them with equipment and facilities to achieve their goals. 

POSITION:          The Department of Engineering Mechanics, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, invites applications for a non tenure-track position at the Research Assistant Professor to work on cutting-edge research in the area of biomaterials, mechanics, and medicine. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the state-of-the-art Biomaterials Core Facility and expanding experimental research capabilities with faculty and graduate students. Studies will be highly interactive with external research centers of excellence and internal colleagues. It is expected that increased funding and publications will result from these studies. The position offers excellent career opportunities in an environment where there is highly active on-going discovery and translational research for engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in these areas and compensation will commensurate with background.  

QUALIFICATIONS:    Doctoral degree in Biomaterial Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant field of engineering or applied science is required in experimental area. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the state-of-the-art Biomaterials Core Facility and expanding experimental research capabilities with faculty and graduate students.
