Auxetics 2008 @ Bristol - International Conference on Auxetics and Related Systems
<!--break-->
Building on the previous series of Auxetics Workshops and
the 1st International Conference in Exeter (2006), the 2nd
International Conference on Auxetics and Related Systems will discuss
the following topics:
-
properties and mechanics
of negative materials -
experimental
studies on negative Poisson's ratio,
negative thermal
expansion (NTE), negative stiffness, negative mass -
multifunctional and
nanostructured materials with
negative properties -
composites and
structures exhibiting hierarchical and
extreme matter properties -
wave propagation,
phononic and photonics of negative
materials -
Theoretical and
numerical simulations in auxetics
The program will include keynote speakers, oral presentations and a
networking poster session. The Conference will also host the 5th
Auxenet Young Researchers Forum. The scope of this Forum, first
held in Bolton in 2004, is to provide young researchers in the area of
auxetics the opportunity to present their work and interact with
relevant people of the sector.
