International Committee on Aeronautical Fatigue (ICAF) 2009, Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

The 31st CONFERENCE and the 25th SYMPOSIUM of the International Committee on Aeronautical Fatigue is hosted in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, by the National Aerospace Laboratory NLR, under the auspices of the Netherlands Association of Aeronautical Engineers NVvL, the Technical University of Delft and Stork Fokker AESP B.V.

 Symposium Topics
By the closing date of 15 October last, more than a 100 candidates had responded to our call for symposium papers. From the submitted abstracts, 39 have been selected for oral presentation. In addition, we have invited 67 authors to present their paper as a poster. The submitted abstracts cover the following range of topics:

• Advanced materials and innovative structural concepts

• Full-scale fatigue testing of aircraft and aircraft structural components

• Life extension and management of ageing fleets 

• Structural health and structural loads monitoring

• NDI, inspections and maintenance

• Fatigue crack growth and life prediction methods

• Fatigue life enhancement methods and repair solutions

• Environmental effects
