How to rectify an Element error in Abaqus?
when trying to submit a model for analysis i recieve an error as follows
1200 elements have missing property definitions. The elements have been identified in element set ErrElemMissingSection.
Error in job 4: Analysis Input File Processor exited with an error.
Job 4 aborted due to errors.
I have defined the material and then seeded it and defined the element before meshing it.I have also tried defining the element before defining the material and still get the same error.
plz help to solve this for me.

element error in abaqus
Hi,
You have to create a section and assign it to the material properties you are using for your model, otherwise abaqus doesnt know the material properties given by you correspond to the model you have define.
Hope this helps

hey rohith i have tried
hey rohith
i have tried assigning them after creating the sections.. and it says elements created. but when i submit it for analysis.. it gives me the above error message

The parts should show up
The parts should show up with a color when they have sections assigned to them. I'm positive you have missed something during this step since i've seen this issue arise almost every time i teach someone how to use Abaqus/CAE
thanks mikael i have
thanks mikael
i have another question
if i add rigid surfaces to my model which is just a block . so the rigid surface is on the top of the block and on the bottom surface. apart from the contact controls and constraints and connector controls. do i have to indivudially assign sections to each of this rigid surface???
i am trying to do a compression model. and i can do a compression with just a block and applying pressure. but if i try to do it with the rigid surface i am unable to do so.
many thanks
anila
regarding your rigid surface..
I dont think so you need any section assignment to rigid surface...rigid surface not participate in analysis so not required any property...well i think you are doing something wrong with applying pressure..can i know how u r applying the pressure and other BC to your model..?
Hi
YOu may not be defined the material property...
