Constitutuive modelling of viscoelastic materials

I am currently working on constictutive modelling of soft biological tissues, considering them as nonlinear viscoelastic materials. I am using the split form of energy density function i.e modelling separately the hyperelastc part and the visoelastic part. I am using Ogden formula for hyperelastic part and for the viscoelastic part, I am currently using the second and third invariants of stretch rate tensor.

This is where I am finding problem. I am not very sure about the usage of stretch rate invariants, and I am currently following the procedures emplyed by Piolette, Limbert et al. But this is unable to model the data that I have. I believe the material I am working with is very sensitive to the stretch rate and that is making all the diference. Can some one please help me in this regard, by giving me some information on how to use the stretch rate invariants and their physical significance?
