Three year OCE Postdoctoral Fellowship in computational nanotechnology

Applications are invited for a three year OCE Postdoctoral Fellowship in computational nanotechnology, working with scientists from the Virtual Nanoscience Laboratory in the CSIRO Materials Science and Engineering division at Clayton, in Australia. The successful applicant will work be involved in predicting the material properties for optimal nanodiamond-based drug delivery systems, in collaboration with a multi-national interdisciplinary team.

Candidates should have PhD in computational physics and/or computational chemistry, and have a maximum of three years relevant work experience since the conferral of their doctorate. Previous research experience in computational modelling of the structure and properties of nanoparticles and nanoparticle-chemical interactions is considered essential, and experience using the density functional tight binding method and the DFTB+ software will be highly regarded.  The successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and the ability to undertake independent research as part of a multi-disciplinary research team.
