Integration over a Triangle
Fri, 2010-01-22 13:22 - danton
I am working on FEM and i need integration points with their weight coefficients for triangle. I have found tables consisting of 25 points but i need even more. Where can i find a Matlab routine for this.
If it is any help the tables and methods i use are from D.A.Dunavant, High degree efficient symmetrical Gaussian quadrature rules for the triangle.
Any help?

you may want to look at the following paper
perhaps see the following paper, which discusses generating gaussian quadrature points and weights for arbitrary polygons

Thank you very much. It
Thank you very much. It looks really good but dont have the time ti program it now. Maybe next month.
I will stick with the 25 point intregration table i found.
I made new type of shape functions and just wanted to test them. I did the test with the euler-timoshenko beam with a 3node and 6node triangle elements but wanted to do tests only on 1 Element with lots of nodes. I think 21 nodes are enough....
So now i have another problem. Which elastic problem should i try to solve with 1 element? The element is triangle and i used the circle equation for its boundaries so to solve elastic problems on discs. Is there a point to run test on elastic problems on discs?I dont think i can run it for the euler beam but i can try...(1 triangle element for the euler beam!!!!that is crazy!!!)
