Generic Algorithm in Abaqus
Hi,
I'm doing an Optimization in Abaqus by using a generic Algorithm. This is implemented by a Python-Script which varies some parameter, submitts the job and at last get's some fitness-value out of the .odb file. This works very good but after some time and generations (which is not always the same) the System crashes and the error message:
"GUI detected error while waiting for ipc connection to close. ABAQUS
Error: ABAQUS/CAE kernel exited with an error" occurs.
I'm running Abaqus 6.9.3 on a Windows 7 operating system.
Does anyone have some experience with this kind of error and has perhaps some suggestion to solve this problem?

Elliptical Inclusion
I solved the Problem it was some how related to hardware acceleration http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=81199.
At the moment I'm Optimizing an elliptical Inclusion in a matrix. Im simulating a 2D plate under plane stress. For a starting I only considered elastic deformation.
For comparism i would like to know if somebody knows where to find an analytical solution for an elliptical inclusion in a matrix under plane stress. The Young's modulus of the Inclusion might differ from those of the matrix and the length of the plate might be asuumed as infinitly large compared to the elliptical inclusion.
Furthermore the solution for an elliptical hole in a thin plate under plane stress might also be interesting for me.
