Faculty Position Available in Computational Mechanics at UNC Charlotte

 
 
The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science at UNC-Charlotte is currently seeking candidates for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position in the general area of solid mechanics with a strong background in computational methods and materials science. A Ph.D. in solid mechanics or a closely related field is required. 

Candidates with a strong research experience in nanomechanics and computational materials science are especially encouraged to apply. It is expected that the successful candidate will actively seek external funding and develop a strong research program. In addition, the candidate must be committed to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. 

UNC Charlotte is a research university in the University of North Carolina system and has four campuses. The main campus sits on 950 wooded acres with approximately 75 buildings just 8 miles from Uptown Charlotte. It offers 18 doctoral, 62 master's, and 90 bachelor's degree programs through 9 colleges. The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science (MEES) claims over 850 of the nearly 3,000 students in the William States Lee College of Engineering and is affiliated with five research centers in Precision Metrology, Energy Production, Biomedical Engineering, Optoelectronics, and Motorsports.
