Would you please let me know if it's possible to call a file (txt, dat, etc) inside of the UEL or not?

I am doing a research in vibracion-based health monitoring based in CFRP beams. As a part of my research, I am modeling a composite beam in abaqus and apply transient analysis on it. Before I would like to validate my model with a very simple a easy model for this reason I have elaborated this procedure:

I have a shell model, clampled on the booundaries. I want to excite it in a frequency range of 10 to 100 Hz with 10Hz intervals and I want to report the complex displacement of a particular node set at each frequency.
I read in Abaqus documentation of "Direct-solution steady-state dynamic analysis" that:

I am a working on a cube in abaqus. I had to remove some nodes from the face node sets. To be specific edge nodes. I have defined a function in such a way that after removing them what I have is a list of node labels. I am scripting in python. Can anyone help me in extracting nodes back from nodelabels?
Or is there any better way to remove some nodes from nodelist and get the modified nodelist ?
I am writing a UMAT in ABAQUS and I would like to obtain the eigenvalues of a matrix (it is the left Cauchy-Green matrix used for hyperelastic formulations, to be specific.) I know that this is a strain matrix, and the documentation for ABAQUS 6.12 says to call the SPRINC function, which runs fine, but what I am confused about is: why one would need to specify whether the input matrix to that function is a stress or a strain matrix? I tried specifying it as a either type of matrix, and it outputs different results for those two cases. What I want to know is, what is different about the way that ABAQUS calculates the eigenvalues in those two cases. I would appreciate it if someone out there knows and could tell me. Thanks!
high i am a student doing a project on curvature effect on thoracic stent. I want to curve the nitinol stent in abaqus. I am using RSURFU and doing static analysis. But am not able to curve it. Also when using implicit dynamic analysis with quasi static apllication my KE is high and comparable to IE. So can any body help me. Crimping and expansion is not a problem.

I am new to abaqus command line and trying to solve massive explicit dynamics and steady dynamics models. I want to use multiple CPUs and GPUs to sole this. I searched on internet and found the syntax as:
c:\Temp> abaqus job=Job-1 cpus=16 gpus=1 input=file1.inp double interactive
Is this syntax correct, especially gpus part? or do I need to write some more command to use GPU, such as type of GPU or something like that? Can someone tell me what "double interactive" in above syntax means?
After solving abaqus generates a number of files. How to get time to solve entire problem and where is it listed? Is it listed in .dat file (JOB TIME SUMMARY)?
I am working on a research to simulate a drop test of a package box with ceramic saucer inside. I am not proficient in abaqus so I am looking for some suggestions.
Till now, I created a hollow box with 2 mm thickness to represent it as a cardboard box and a disc for a saucer. I have material properties for cardboard and saucer. Then I assembled the model in abaqus such that saucer is touching box at the bottom; this was initial condition.
At the time of fall, I am giving acceleration field to box. Then I have to give constraint to the saucer so that it will be inside the box. Then I am not able to think next steps especially how to simulate the condition of box hitting the
Recently I had lots of problem with linking ABAQUS and Fortran compiler together. I did all of the things which has been described in forums but none of them worked for me. Finally I found the solution.
I'm using ABAQUS 6.12-3, Visual Studio 2012 Professional and Intel Composer XE Suites 2013. For linking them simply follow these steps:
1- find the file ifortvars.bat and its path.
I need to work with the CREEP subroutine. I have written a
CREEP subroutine which is rather complicated. My subroutine works
well for simple examples like uniaxial condition (I have verified its
correctness through comparison with outcome of some matlab routines).
when I apply it to my more complicated geometry, its convergence rate is too
slow. I think the problem should be in definition of DECRA(5) (or DECRA(2)) in
my subroutine and I would appreciate your support.
I read the ABAQUS
theory manual and got confused with the way I should define my parameters for
explicit and/or implicit LEXIMP = 0 or 1. (LEND?)
I have created a substructure in Abaqus. As output, I will like to see the substructure matrices (mass, stiffness and damping matrices). However, I'm only able to write the mass and stiffness matrices to an output file (*.mtx).
Does anyone know how to create an output file including both the mass, stiffness and damping matrices of the substructure? Below, I have shown what I have written in the input file (*.inp).

I have been trying to model the surface interaction between two blocks of material using surface-based cohesive elements (*cohesive behavior). This works well in ABAQUS CAE (standard) when I set the material properties as "Mechanical, Elastic" so no problem with that.
However, I would now like to use the material properties from a fortran code. To do this, I was planning on defining the elements using *UEL with an overlay to record all the values. Is this compatible with cohesive zone elements?

Does Anybody know how to recover the wall clock time of an Abaqus/explicit analysis? I do not understand why for implicit analyses is easy (log file) while for explicit there is no information.
I am attempting to model the rotation of a cylindrical bar using Abaqus 6.12 coupled with the direct cylic approach. In my model I have one end of the beam fixed while the other has a kinematic coupling constraint to a reference point that has an applied rotation of 0.1 rad.
I am applying a tabular amplitude within the direct cylic step such that the reference point rotates from 0.0 radians up to 0.1 radians and back down to 0.0 radians. This however is not the result I find when I view the model in the .odb file. The magnitdue of the rotation continues to increase at the free end from 1.3 radians to 1.6. Why would this result happen if I have already defined the rotation of the free end?
I have a problem to extract the the iges file of a geometry in ANSYS. I use the following path : Main menu>
Archive Model>Write, then write the iges file of the geometry into a file. But this
file cannot be used in other softwares such as Solidworks or ABAQUS. Has anyone ever faced the same problem, if
yes, could you please help me to solve it? Do you have any other suggestion than using iges
or cdb file to export the geometry from ANSYS to other softwares such as ABAQUS?
i am kind of newbie to Abaqus, in learning phase. My question is regarding creating new parts from existing part in abaqus, kind of splitting activity similar to slice feature in ANSYS Designmodeler. As far as my regular activity in Ansys workbench, i require to slice body in designmodeler, to create new volumes, to refine mesh, or to define contacts with different status.have limited access to modeling software, so basically work with simulation software pre processor.
tried using partition tool , but probably from my learning it only allows to create new volume in existing part. tried with copy part but it does not allow to suppress the parent geometry and to allow only new partition cell.
