Two PhD Positions in Multiscale Modeling of Materials Under Extreme Conditions

Two PhD positions are open for Spring 2019 in Advanced Hierarchical Materials by Design Labat Louisiana Tech Universityon multiscale modeling of materials under extreme conditions. The candidates must have earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields (applicants with a MSc will be given priority) and have a solid background in theoretical and computational mechanics. Having knowledge of continuum mechanics, finite element modeling, and a programming language (preferably C++) is a plus.

Hello,
I am looking for an explanation about the formulation used for CONTINUMM SHELL elements in ABAQUS.

Ph.D. position(s) in the Mechanics of Materials at the Iowa State University

PhD position(s) are available for Spring 2016 semester to perform theoretical and computational work on phase field modeling of variaous structural changes in engineering materials and modeling of interaction between phase transformations and plasticity. MS degree and background in continuum and computational mechanics is required. Please send vita to Prof. Valery Levitas (vlevitas@iastate.edu).

Viscoelastic RVE for CNT Composites

Hi
all,

I am Mohammad Aramfard senior student of mechanical engineering and I joined this
great forum yesterday, so I am not very familiar with regulations and rules.Laughing

I am working on modeling CNT composites using cylindrical RVE and I found up to
now that there isn`t a viscoelastic RVE for representing behavior of these
composites.

Phd or Postdoc position on multiscale mechanics in Bochum/Germany

Please see the job-announcement attached, for a better format.
PhD or Postdoc position
The Interdisciplinary Centre for Advanced Materials Simulation (ICAMS) is a new research centre at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany. At ICAMS an interdisciplinary team of scientists from engineering, materials science, chemistry, physics and mathematics is working on the development and application of a new generation of simulation tools for multi-scale materials modelling.
