General framework: 14 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) will be offered doctoral positions as part of the MeDiTATe project, which is funded through the H2020 program: Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Innovative Training Networks – European Industrial Doctorate. The whole MeDiTATe project aims to develop state-of-the-art image based medical Digital Twins of cardiovascular districts for a patient specific prevention and treatment of aneurysms. We are looking for PhD students in the broad area of computational mechanics. Our project is specifically focused on applications of machine learning (deep reinforcement learning, graph neural network) for computational plasticity and damage of crystalline and granular materials.

The Mechanics and Computation Group (Department of Mechanical Engineering) at Stanford University is seeking applicants for the "Stephen Timoshenko Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship." This appointment is for a term of two years.

A one-year postdoc position is available in my Computational Biomechanics Research Group at the University of Glasgow. The project is aimed at combining image segmentation with biomechanical calculations and requires experience in scientific code development and nonlinear biomechanics.

The IRDS analytics lab (https://alouhghalam.sites.umassd.edu) at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (UMassD) has a fully-funded PhD position. The graduate student will be working on an exciting project related to the dynamics of locally resonant structures and machine learning techniques with application to source localization. A post-doctoral researcher is sought for research in granular flow, mixing, and segregation for both industrial and geophysical applications.

My group has openings for post docs and grad students (January start date) who will use reactive molecular dynamics simulations to investigate surface and interface phenomena. Applicants must have a degree (BS/MS for PhD applicants or PhD for post doc applicants) in mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, chemistry or a related field. An immediate postdoctoral position in design and 3D printing of fiber-reinforced polymer composites is available at the University of Colorado Denver. The project aims to develop an integrated workflow of modern composite materials, including optimization design, 3D printing, and application insertion. The position requires a strong background in computational analysis and design optimization in mechanics. The candidate is also expected to be interested in the 3D printing and experimental characterization of composites.

Several postdoctoral and graduate student openings with primary focus on biomechanics is available immediately in the Shenoy Research Group at the University of Pennsylvania.

A fully supported Ph.D. position is available starting Jan 2021 in Advanced Hierarchical Materials by Design Lab at the University of Alabama on multiscale modeling of materials and processes. The objective of this project is to model the synthesis of 2D materials to design new processes to improve synthesis efficiency, as well as synthesis by the design of these materials, and to use machine learning algorithms to design materials and their synthesis process.
